The United States men’s national team rallied in the second half to draw with Argentina 1-1 in front of nearly 79,000 fans in New Jersey.
18-year-old Juan Agudelo continued building his myth with a scrappy goal in the 59th minute – his second international goal in three appearances.
Agudelo scored on a putback following a U.S. set piece.
The goal was enough to secure the draw, but without Tim Howard that might not have been possible.
The all-world goalkeeper was the difference in the match, as he often is. Coming up big each time against Lionel Messi, arguably the best player in the world.
Argentina took the lead in the 42nd minute when Esteban Camiasso scored off a rebound from Angel Di Maria’s shot.
The U.S. improved to 2-6-2 against Argentina and faces Paraguay next on Tuesday night.
